The History of Greek Food
Greek food dates back over 4,000 years. It can be found enjoyed all over the world. Greece’s cuisine can be traced right back to 320 BC when Archestratos created the first cookbook in history. Greek cuisine was then very much founded on what they had available to them such as wheat, olive oil, and wine. Back then, meat, wasn’t really consumed, and there was more seafood and fish. By 334 BC, Alexander the Great extended the Greek Empire’s reach all the way to India and as a result, you’ll see northern and eastern influences in Greek food today.
