This Greek Burger Patty is full of flavor from the fresh herbs and the perfect summer recipe for your next BBQ.

This Greek Burger is exactly what you need this summer for the perfect BBQ. This recipe is inspired by Keftedes, a traditional Greek meatball and is made with a few simple ingredients and fresh mint and parsley. I love these burger patties because they’re so easy to make and really flavorful. You can also do so much with them – eat it on its own, jazz it up like a typical burger with your fav toppings, or make into sliders to serve as an appetizer.

❤️ Why You’ll Love This Greek Burger

  • Quick: Prep this Greek Burger recipe in only 10-minutes and have a tasty, delicious burger patty ready in 30 minutes flat
  • Flavorful: What I love about Keftedes and this Greek Burger is the flavor profile. The fresh herbs pop and really add depth to a typical burger patty
  • Versatile: You can eat these on their own, add it to a bun with your fav toppings, or make sliders for an appy

🍲 Ingredients

Beef – For this recipe I used ground beef. However, you can totally use your fav ground protein to make these. Whether it’s a plant-based substitute, ground turkey, chicken, or lamb.

Herbs – The key to this Greek Burger is the fresh herbs. You need fresh herbs to really make these pop! Do not substitute for dried herbs. The mint and parsley make these SOOO good.

👩‍🍳 How to Make Greek Burgers

  1. Prepare the burgers (biftekia): In a mixing bowl combine the ground beef, grated onion, pressed garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, olive oil, parsley, mint, salt and pepper. Mix together to fully combine. Divide the mixture into 12 portions and use your hands to form into burger-sized patties.
  2. Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat, add a drizzle of olive oil or avocado oil, cook 3-4 burgers at a time, cooking 3-5 minutes per side until cooked through to your desired temperature.
  3. Serve with lots of fresh herbs like mint and a squeeze of lemon juice.

I wasn’t sure how I would like the mint in these but it and the other spices was perfect! Another great and easy recipe from Maria. We ate just the patty itself one night and the next night some made them into a burger with some taziki sauce and tomato. So good!

Maria Koutsogiannis

thank you so much, Lari!!!

This recipe is so easy, so delicious, and fast to make! I left out the mint and added more parsley just because the store didn’t have any fresh mint and they were still so yummy!

Can I make without breadcrumbs?

Maria Koutsogiannis

You can! Just remove the egg. If you’re GF I hight encourage you to try with GF breadcrumbs or gluten free oats (blend till a fine crumb if formed)
